Light Art Prize Contest 2010: REFLECTION
This year, for the third time in its existence, Kunstlicht in de Kunst offers the Light Art Prize Contest. The theme for 2010 is REFLECTION.
Light Art Museum is the only museum in Europe that focuses specifically on visual arts in which light is the expressive material. The museum shows and manages modern and present-day light art and wants give the audience an as broad as possible look at this art form. The museum realizes this by means of showing its own collection and temporary exhibitions. Each edition of the prize contest is dedicated to a special theme.
This year’s theme is: REFLECTION. Participating artists will be invited to give this theme a personal interpretation. This year the museum focuses with the prize contest on new talent and young artists. Final exam candidates of schools of art and recently graduated artists in particular will be invited to participate. Consequently, the corresponding exhibition that will be held entitled ‘New Group’.
The final date to send in proposals is May 1st 2010. A professional jury will be concerned with the entries and will select at most ten works. These works will to be seen in a group exhibition in the museum for more than three months as from the 6th of November.The prize for the selected artists is, apart from the exhibition, a special launched catalogue. There will also be an Audience Award for the work of art with the most votes from visitors of the museum.
