Light Art Prize Contest 2010:
Winners Light Art Prize Contest known!
This year, the Museum of Artificial Light in Art in Eindhoven offers for the third time in her existence the Light Art Prize Contest. 2010’s theme is REFLECTION. After lengthy consideration of the jury, the winners are known now.
This year, the Museum of Artificial Light in Art focuses with the prize contest on new talent and young artists. Final examination candidates of academies of art and recently graduated artists in particular are invited to participate. This direct approach is to be seen again in the large amount of entries of young artists. The jury – consisting of five members of the world of design, culture and technology – have chosen from that large amount of very different entries.
The selected artists are: Matthijs Munnik (Den Haag), Suzanne van Rest (Maastricht), Eelco Wagenaar (Amsterdam), Jan Fedinger (Helsinki), Nicky Assmann (Rotterdam), Adrian Villa (Keulen), Carmin Karasic en Oscar Tomico (Eindhoven), Ismay Wolff (Groningen) en Douwe Jan Buwalda (Kampen).
These ten artists are chosen to exhibit together at the exhibition Reflection which is to be seen from November the 6th in the Museum of Artificial Light in Art. Apart from the exhibition, they will also be offered a publication. There will also be granted an Audience Award for the work of art with the most votes from the visitors of the museum.
