Light Art Contest 2010 'REFLECTION' November 6th, 2010
Light Art Contest 2010 “Reflection”
The Light Art Museum in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, this year organizes a call for projects concerning light art. This year’s theme is REFLECTION.
The museum is the only museum in Europe that uniquely focusses on light art. Its collection contains sculptures, objects and installations in which artificial light is essential.
The museum organizes three guest exhibitions per year. Each edition of the contest has a specific theme. This year’s theme is: REFLECTION. Artists are invited to give their own interpretation of the theme. The contest focuses on artists in their graduate year or artists that haven’t worked professionally for a period longer than five years. A submission can be a recent work or a work that still has to be produced.
Meanwhile the deadline for submitting applications closed.
The jury, consisting of five members who come from the cultural, scientific and technological sectors, has now started assessing the entries.
The members of this jury are Rob Perrée, Titia Ex, Elke den Ouden, Michael Katzberg and Marjoleine Groen. The works will be exhibited in a tree month group exhibition starting November 6th.
The award for the selected works is an exclusive catalogue about the exhibition. There will also be an award assigned by the visitors to the work that receives most votes.
For further information please contact the curator, Ms. Marjoleine Groen.
