Welcome
Centrum Kunstlicht in de Kunst (Centre Artificial light in Art) highlights modern art from a surprising angle. Its museum shows sculptures, installations and paintings in which artificial light plays a central role. Apart from showing its own collection, it organises three, thematically, exhibitions per year with work from outside. The museum is located in the historical first Philips factory in the centre of Eindhoven.
Change of the Century
7th november 2009 up to 22th March 2010
Artificial light has been a major influence on how society as we know it functions and has helped to mould us into who we are now. It has proven to be an invention with major social implications. Our working rhythm has changed and we can continue to be active at home longer. This change in society was caused primarily by the introduction of incandescent lamps. They enabled the arrival of the 24-hour economy.
The exhibition has come about in collaboration with the Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst (S.M.A.K.) from Gent, Belgium.

Cultural evening in Eindhoven
February 11 a lecture in the museum Kunstlicht in de Kunst
This evening Philippe van Cauteren, artistic director of SMAK in Gent, gives a lecture about the current exhibition Change of the Century. He will also talk about contemporary art.
The evening starts at 8.00 pm and will last one hour. The admission is free.

Supercombi 2010 Three in One



Four times per year Centrum Kunstlicht in de Kunst organises the so-called Supercombi: A special arrangement in which you are visiting Centrum Kunstlicht in de kunst as well as the original Philips Factory and the Light Application Centre (LAC) of Philips Lighting Division.
